greenmuseum_sampleWith the environmental movement progressing and everything going green, I thought I would check into the way the arts is impacting the green movement.

What I found was the Green Museum. The Green Museum is an "online museum emerged from our own experiences making environmental art and from seeing firsthand some of the challenges facing artists, community groups, nonprofit organizations and arts institutions when it came to presenting and discussing environmental art."

greenmuseumEnvironmental art is descibed as...

"Environmental art is a global movement that involves artists, community groups, scientists, arts professionals, students and educators, park and resource managers, government organizations, philanthropists and concerned citizens and countless other groups and individuals. We're doing what we can to interconnect people, information and ideas to help inspire the creation of more art that heals our communities and ecosystems. For the idea of sustainablility to work, it needs to engage our culture effectively. Through collaborations with artists of all types, we can make existing remediation projects and environmental education more fun, beautiful, culturally and historically resonant and better integrated into our cities, parks and communities. It's an old idea, really, whose time is long overdue."

Please give them a few moments of your time and check them out.

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
