hdrp8Was looking for some Photoshop tutorials just now to help with my web development and ran across the topic of making HDR images with Photoshop.

Basically, from what I understand, this is the process of combining multiple exposures of an image in Photoshop, to create a photo with more dynamic range than any one exposure can. Wikipedia gives the defintion of...

"In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of luminances between light and dark areas of a scene than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows."

I think I might give this a try as the images are truly stunning. Any of you photographers out there experimented with this?

I have seen some of these prints myself and think the results is dramatically different.
It is my understanding that there will be HDR cameras out on the market in the next year and that they use two lens.

Wore, have you tried to do one yet. I have a D80 that I want to try it with as soon as I figure out how to use it - not a photographer but use Photoshop constantly so that part appeals to me.

Hell, if you want to take two exposures of the same image and don't have Photoshop, send them to me and I'll do and send it back to you.

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
