(LITTLE ROCK, AR) – The Arkansas Arts Center presents the Young Arkansas Artists 48th Annual exhibition, on view April 3 - May 24, 2009, in the Alice Pratt Brown Atrium and the Jeannette Edris Rockefeller Gallery. Organized by the Arkansas Arts Center with the cooperation of the Arkansas Department of Education, the Young Arkansas Artists exhibition celebrates the artistic talents of Arkansas’ youth. This annual exhibition showcases artworks in all media created by students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Arkansas schools- both public and private. Each original work selected for the exhibition was created under a teacher’s supervision during the 2008-09 school year. Every year, members of the Arkansas Art Education Association select 12 works from each grade level for the exhibition. The selections are made based on originality and artistic merit. For each grade level, one work is selected for “Best of Class” and receives a $200 award, and two works are selected for “Honorable Mention” and receive $100 awards. These monetary awards, sponsored by Arkansas Children’s Hospital, are given to each winner’s school to support the funding of art programs. Comments (0)

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.
As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".
Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
