The Arkansas Craft Guild spring membership.  Deadline for member application is April 10:  Arkansas Craft Guild prospective members may download an application, media and standards information  through the Guild's website, www.arkansascraftguild.org or by calling the corporate offices at 870-269-3897 for an application to be mailed or faxed.

22nd Annual May Festival of the Arts: Art in Basin Spring Park

The juried Art in the Park has been expanded to include all five weekends in May.  With a backdrop of free music and entertainment, the art show(s) will be held in Basin Spring Park, Eureka Springs, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in May. Memorial Day Monday will feature a mini Art show.

   Booth space is limited to 10x10 and artists must provide their own tents.  All items being sold must be handmade and juried in. Though not required, demonstrations are strongly encouraged.  There is no application fee.  The booth fee is $25 per weekend.  Each Sunday (Monday of Memorial Day Weekend) a $50 People's Choice Award will be given.

FIRST ANNUAL COTTER TROUT FESTIVAL PAINT OUT AND QUICK DRAW: TWO-DAY PLEIN AIR EVENT 

April 17 - 18, 2009, Big Spring Park, Cotter, Arkansas. Open to artists of all ages and mediums.  Friday, April 17    Noon - 5:00 p.m.--Paint Out (No Charge)   Saturday, April 18  9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.--Paint Out (No Charge)  9:00 a.m.-Quick Draw Registration, $5 entry fee per painting        1:00 p.m.--Quick Draw Paintings Due  2:00 p.m.--Quick Draw Judging conducted by team of three judges   4:00 p.m.--Sale of Quick Draw Artwork     5:15 p.m.--Awards Presentation Cash and Merchandise Awards

 ARTrageous ParadeApplications to participate in the annual ARTrageous Parade are now available.  The parade will take place May 2, in downtown Eureka Springs, and is the "kick-off" event for the annual May Festival of the Arts. 

    The theme is "Art of the World" (so just about anything goes.) Cash prizes of $300 for First Place, $200 for Second Place, and $100 for Third Place will be awarded. 

   Registration forms are now available in The Auditorium, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  All registration forms must be turned in no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 17.  For more information call the Special Events Office: 479-253-2586

   The Greater Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce will hold an arts and crafts fair May 1-3, in Pine Mountain Village. Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
