Oakland Community College Womencenter of Farmington Hills, Michigan presents its 2009 exhibit, From Our Perspective: A National Women's Exhibition. A juried exhibit featuring two- and three-dimensional works of art. The exhibit occurs September 17 – October 9, 2009 at the Smith Theatre Gallery at Oakland Community College's Orchard Ridge campus. The gift of the artist is the way she gives us the opportunity to experience and reflect upon the world around us from a novel and unconventional perspective. Within their chosen medium, today’s women artists continue to share their unique viewpoint on the material, personal, global, political, and cultural landscapes that surround us. This exhibition commits to giving women artists a forum in which to share their singular position and outlook on the inner and outer worlds we all share. Women from around the country are invited to enter at www.oaklandcc.edu/womencenter/artshow.htm. Entry Requirements: Submit up to 3 works in jpeg format All entries must be submitted by July 31, 2009 Mail in entry fee (visit website for details) For more information please contact: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
