National Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM) is a coast-to-coast collective celebration of culture in America. Held every October and coordinated by Americans for the Arts, it is the largest annual celebration of the arts and humanities in the nation. From arts center open houses to mayoral proclamations to banners and media coverage, communities across the United States join together to recognize the importance of arts and culture in our daily lives. For info or to add your event to the map go to: NAHM
Eureka Springs will join other communties celebrating the event...
During October the Eureka Springs Arts Council will join other communities nationwide by honoring "National Arts & Humanities Month." During their monthly meeting, the Arts Council will participate in a 'Creative Conversation' with attending members and several invited guests, chosen as representatives of 'Emerging Art Leaders'. Similar types of meetings and events are being held around the country in October. The Eureka Springs event, facilited by Cynthia Morin, will be posted on the Arts In America website as an "Emerging Art Leaders" inspired event. During the September 28th Eureka Springs city council meeting, Mayor Dani Joy issued a proclamation proclaiming National Arts And Humanities Month in Eureka Springs and "called upon our citizens to celebrate and promote arts and culture in our nation and to specifically encourage the greater participation by those citizens in taking action for the arts and humanities in their towns and cities." The proclamation was then presented to the Arts Council. Eureka Springs may possibly be the smallest city participating in the national event: small in size but big in the arts.

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.
As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".
Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
