The Arkansas Arts Council is proud to announce the recipients of its fiscal year 2010 Individual Artist Fellowship awards.
This year, the Arkansas Arts Council awarded nine artist fellowships worth $4,000 each. The fellowship awards are unconditional awards that recognize individual artistic ability.
The three categories for this year were contemporary and traditional crafts, short stories and film and video.
The artists selected have demonstrated a career commitment to the art discipline for which they apply and have created a substantial body of work, said Joy Pennington, executive director of the Arkansas Arts Council. The artists will be recognized during the Governor’s Arts Awards luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
Fellowships awarded:
Contemporary and Traditional Crafts: David H. Clemons, Mia Hall, Scott Lykens Film and Video: Daehwan Cho, Huixia Lu, Sarah K. Moore Short Stories: Robin Becker, Mathew Goldberg, Ben Nickol

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
