2009_official_posterOzark Foothills FilmFest held a statewide competition to find a  image for 2010  festival poster.  The festival has selected a work by Arkansas artist Damian DeLoach.  The piece is a a digital collage using original photographs; the title of the principal photo is “Decomposition.”  This work was selected from among more than fifty entries received.

DeLoach was born in Pocahontas and graduated from Pocahontas High School in 2001. He worked as an intern at Niche Publications in Jonesboro beginning in 2005 and stayed on as a graphic designer, working on magazine ads and layouts until graduating from Arkansas State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. He describes his work as “edgy,” dominated by textures and lots of layers. He is currently employed as a Marketing Specialist at White River Medical Center. DeLoach is married and has a four year old son and a one year old daughter.

The poster will be unveiled at a press conference announcing the 2010 Ozark Foothills FilmFest line-up on February 15 at the Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery. In addition to the poster, DeLoach’s work will grace the cover of the festival program.

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
