79-1February 5, 2010 – North Little Rock, AR)    Little Rockians looking to spend Valentine’s Day doing something besides the usual romantic dinners and other outings, can look to The Ketz Gallery. On Sunday, February 14th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, the Ketz Gallery will feature a Valentine’s Day Event with champagne and chocolates and an art auction. The auction will feature recent works by local artist Sulac.

“Valentine’s Day is not just for couples,” said local artist Sulac. Known for his creative expressions using unusual media including cardboard boxes and magic markers, Sulac has proclaimed Valentine’s Day as Singles Aware ness Day.  He invites singles and couples to come together in celebration.  His magic box paintings with hand-crafted surprises will be included in the art auction, Hearts for Haiti.  Other artists at Ketz Gallery will also share their proceeds from the auction with Doctors Without Borders - Haiti Fund. In addition, heart-themed art pieces will be available during the week preceeding Valentine’s day with 20% of all sales contributed to the Haiti fund.

Recently opened in the historic Argenta area of North Little Rock, the Ketz Gallery is located at 705 Main Street.  The Gallery is regularly open Tuesday through Friday, 11am – 5pm, 11am – 3pm Saturdays.  For more information, call Michelle Ketzscher, at 501-529-6330.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".
