ketz_hein_tracesKETZ GALLERY will feature paintings of local artist Rene’ Hein starting September 17 through November 1.  An opening reception will be held on Friday, September 17 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. during the Third Friday Art Walk.Light refreshments will be served.

The most recent works of Hein will be on display including contemporary paintings from a Traces series.  Hein said, “Several years ago, I moved to Arkansas and began a series of drawings of objects from my backyard - birds, tree branches, leaves, pine cones, and pine needles. My interest in color and process eventually took over and the shapes have become more simplified and abstract.  Over the past few years, several themes have emerged. In some of the paintings, the layering process began to suggest the Traces that are left behind as objects move through space.”  In addition, Hein will have some of her whimsical Mummy Cat paintings.

Located at 705 Main Street in historic Argenta, the KETZ Gallery first opened in August, 2009.  The Gallery features new and emerging artists from central Arkansas. It has a wide variety of contemporary and traditional styles including oil and acrylic paintings, pottery, watercolors, pastels, photography, art glass and wood works.

KETZ Gallery is regularly open Tuesday through Fridays, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. – 3 pm on Saturdays. To schedule an appointment, call 529-6330.

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
