The Baker House Bed & Breakfast in North Little Rock is looking for artists to contribute outdoor sculptures for display and sale in their outdoor spaces at the B&B. The Baker House is located in the heart of the Argenta Arts District with public display places fronting Main Street and 5th Street. The 5th Street area is shown to the left.
We believe there is not enough public art in Argenta and we at the Baker House want to use our spaces to display, promote and sell sculpture. We will help display and label the sculpture inside our gated areas, yet still visible to those walking by on the sidewalks during every event in Argenta.
There is a lot of public art and sculpture in the Rivermarket area and we have a lot of catching up to do.
The Baker House encourages all those in the Arts District with yard display space, front windows or open space to promote public art and help sell that art. Let's become a District know for not only displaying art, but supporting the arts and artists. If you are interested or know an artist who may be interested in displaying sculpture and having it shown for sale at the Baker House B&B please e-mail us at

Thanks to new legislation we are attracting major Film makers to the natural state. A 15% tax rebate on goods and services with an additional 10% for hiring Arkansans seems to be working.
Harry Thomason is currently shooting in Benton a film about the life of country singer Hank Williams, utilizing Arkansans as extras. If you're interested in being an extra they will be filming in different locations hroughout central Arkansas.
Four additional major film productions companies are eyeing Arkansas as a possible location for production.

Get your kids doodles on Google. From the site...
Welcome to Doodle 4 Google, a competition where we invite K-12 students to work their artistic will upon our homepage logo. At Google we believe in thinking big and dreaming big, so this year we're inviting U.S. kids to exercise their creative imaginations around the theme, "If I Could Do Anything, I Would …"
We're looking forward to the kids' answers too. Gather those art supplies and some 8.5" x 11"paper and encourage your students to enrich us all with their creative visions for what they would do in the world, if they could do anything.
