The Arkansas Arts Center announces a call for entries for the “54th Annual Delta Exhibition.” The deadline to submit all entries is October 14, 2011. The exhibition will be held at the Arkansas Arts Center January 27 – March 28, 2012.The “54th Annual Delta Exhibition” is open to all artists who live in or were born in one of the following states: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. Artists can submit up to three entries. A non-refundable entry fee of $20 for one entry and $10 for additional entries is required. All work must be original and completed within the last two years. Artists can view guidelines and enter online at www.arkarts.com.
Tom Butler, executive director of the Columbus Museum in Columbus, Ga., will serve as juror for the “54th Annual Delta Exhibition.” Butler was previously the director of the Huntington Museum of Art in West Virginia and the chief curator and assistant director of the Sioux City Art Center in Iowa. Throughout his museum career, he has organized over 100 exhibitions of drawings, paintings, sculptures, graphics, decorative arts and textiles. He organized the exhibition “Lines of Discovery: 225 Years of American Drawing," which was on view at the Arkansas Arts Center January 26 – April 1, 2007, and was general editor of the book of the same title.
The “Annual Delta Exhibition” was created in 1956 to feature contemporary works by artists from Arkansas and the bordering states. The Delta Exhibition has grown to encompass works in all media and represents current art making trends in the mid-South. |

 Southside Main Street Project (SoMa) in Little Rock is accepting applications from artists interested in designing a new mural for the wall of the United Systems of Arkansas Building owned by Glenn Petkovzek located at 1201 S. Main Street, Little Rock, AR.
The mural design will be selected by the SoMa Wall Mural Design Committee. Applicants must reside in the USA with preferences given to Arkansas artists. Costs for the project are expected to range from $10,000 to $15,000. The application deadline is August 31. The mural project was originated by local businesses and residents wanting to increase SoMa's unique identity, its cultural cohesiveness, and to contribute to its public art.

Call to artists for exhibit at First Presbyterian Church 201 West Fourth, North Little Rock. Theme is "Where was God on the morning of 911". Submit art work, brief bio and description of work. Deadline is August 31, 2011.

60th Annual Prairie Grove Clothesline Fair September 3,4 & 5 2011
The Prairie Grove Clothesline Fair welcomes artists and craftspeople from all over the United States. The fair is held on the grounds of the Prairie Grove Battlefield Park, located 12 miles west of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Highway 62. This is a Civil War battlefield with historic buildings and a beautiful, lush setting with many shade trees, exhibit areas are housed in two tents (60'x 120')as well as outside spaces. The fair is sponsored by the Arts Center or the Ozarks (ACO) and the Prairie Grove Lions Club.

AAC will be holding auditions for the upcoming Children's Theatre Production "Cinderella: A Rockin' New Musical", August 9th 2011, at 3p.m. in the Lower lobby of the Art Center.
