This message is going out to all area bands who would be interested in participating in the ACAC Great Halloween Cover-Up this Halloween, 2009.

The Great Halloween Cover-Up is a fundraiser for ACAC where bands do cover sets of another band, usually one that is a classic or something that everyone can sing along to.

The show is October 31st, 2009.  This will be the 7th year in a row that we have done the event.  Interest has grown each year.  This year we've already had several requests from bands wanting to be in the show.  To be as inclusive as possible, we're sending out this request for bands to contact us if they want to do a cover set at the show.

Because every year the ACAC gets a ton of different band requests we can't pick every band so we have to use this process.  We'll be looking at a variety of factors like how many people your idea will turn out and how it will fit in with the other bands on the bill.  Also, the more theatrical and elaborate you can make your costumes and stage show will also give you a leg up.

Note: bands do not get paid for this; it is a benefit for a 501(c)3 non-profit, the ACAC, which is putting the money we make into our mission, part of which is maintaining a community-run space for art and music over the long-term.

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
