swop_logoWouldn't it be nice to have your art work admired all over Arkansas?
Now is your opportunity to enter your art in the 23rd annual Small Works on Paper, a juried art exhibition sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Council. The exhibition travels throughout the state for one year.

The deadline to enter submissions for the 2010 Small Works on Paper is July 24. You must be a member of the Arkansas Artist Registry to be eligible, but you can join the Registry for free at time of entry.

You may enter up to three works of art on paper of any medium (no larger than 24x24 inches). Works must have been completed within the last two years.

Up to $2,000 will be available for juror-selected purchase awards, which become part of the Small Works on Paper permanent collection.

The fee is $10 per entry, or $25 for three entries.

Artists whose work is selected for the Small Works on Paper exhibition will be notified of results in September 2009. The 2010 exhibition opens at the Searcy Art Gallery in January 2010. Suzanne Bloom, professor of art at the University of Houston, will be the juror.

For additional information or to request an entry form, contact Cheri Leffew, cheri@arkanspecial events/program manager, at (501) 324-9767 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Hi. My name is Kristin Webb-Walker and I am the coordinator for the Grant County Ladies Night Out. Our next event will be held in Sheridan, AR at the Sheridan Recreation Center on October 22, 2009, and we are contacting Arkansas artists for their help in a special event that will go to raise money for our local charities.

This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, and we’re including some very fun events for the community, and we need your help to be successful!

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
