The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking to commission an Arkansas Artist to create a permanent  outdoor three dimensional artwork representing otters to be installed on the grounds.

Theme: Otters

Budget:  submit budget that covers direct cost, design, fabrication, travel, transportation, documentation, insurance and any other related costs.

Selection:  Proposals will be reviewed by the Art Selection Committee

Timeline:

Proposal Deadline received on or before July 31, 2010

Review:  August 2010

Selection & Notification:  September 1, 2010

Dive into Sculpting the Portrait with a strong foundation. Learn to get a good start everytime by working on a soild process combined with naturalistic techniques to achieve the acuracy you've been striving for. Karen Cope will be teaching specific methods that will increase your accuracy, focus on anatomy, process and modeling techniques with a naturalistic approach reminiscent of The Old Masters.

thorbeckeplein-art-2.JPGMerchants in Downtown Rogers invite local artists to set up on sidewalks and in shops during the Third Friday Twilight Walks in Downtown Rogers. Third Fridays will begin in May and continue through September from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on the third Friday of each month.third friday, april 2010The event will include artist receptions at galleries, art and music on the streets, and stage and theater productions. The 100 Block of  First St near Poor Richards Art, the 200 block of First St in the vicinity of  Ironhorse Coffee, and Walnut St near Brick Street Botanical and Showcase Trophy, will be the primary locations  for artist's displays. Tent spaces will be available in a vendor area just south of  Poor Richard's Art. Artists must furnish their own displays and tents.

Requirements for participation include submission of a jpeg depicting original art or fine crafts, a website address, or some indication art to be shown. potterytapedThe Eureka Springs School of the Arts is currently seeking qualified instructors for the 2011 season in the disciplines of  two-dimensional Art, fiber, metal, clay, wood, and glass. eureka_springs_in_july_20081109_1268863244The Eureka Springs Outdoor Alliance (ESOA) invites amateur and professional photographers to spend April 17 in downtown Eureka Springs exploring the history and beauty of  four unique locations through the eye of their camera lens.
The free photo tour begins at 10 a.m. at the base of Jacob's Ladder on Flint Street. From there, participants will progress to Cold Spring, Laundry Spring and Cave Spring, to take photos at each location. The "Three Springs and a Ladder" tour is expected to end no later than 2 p.m.
All photographers are invited to submit an image from each location for possible inclusion in a photo exhibit at the Bank of Eureka Springs Historical Museum (downtown Cornerstone Bank.) The exhibit will be on display May 15-31, as part of the May Festival of the Arts.
In case of rain the tour will be rescheduled for April 24.

Meeting from 6-8pm ish

We're looking for models, stylists and general volunteering. Plus bring any old fabrics, sewing equipment, ribbons, zippers, scrap pieces, ANYTHING you've got lying around. We can certainly use it!

Donations at this event will go toward the Fashion Show in June

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
