The Arkansas Arts Council is now accepting applications for the Individual Artist Fellowships. Deadline is April 20. This year's categories are novels, painting and music composition (Western classical tradition). Individual Artist Fellowships are unconditional, non-matching awards made directly to individual artists in recognition of their artistic abilities. Awards are based on the creative excellence of works submitted for review and are awarded to a limited number of artists of outstanding talent. For more information, visit ARArtsCO

The National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with the U.S. Japan Friendship Commission:
The U.S/Japan Creative Artists' Program will provide support for up to fiveoutstanding contemporary or traditional artists from the United States to spend athree-month residency in Japan.
Eligible applicants are architects, choreographers, composers, creative writers, designers, media artists, playwrights, visual artists, or solo theater artists who work with original material (including puppeteers, storytellers and performance artists). Multidisciplinary artists and artistic directors of theater or dance companies are also eligible. Selected artists will receive: A grant award in the amount of $20,000 to cover housing, living, and professional expenses and up to $2,000 for round trip transportation for the artist.

The process for review will requirw submittal of images (JPG or PDF no files over 2MB) or website for initial evaluation. Hard copies accepted through the postal service. Regional Crafts will be reviewed by jury process to evaluate the fit for the store and other merchandise. Due to numerous requests CBM Store cannot respond to all submissions.

Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre(LITTLE ROCK, AR) – The Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre will hold auditions for Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 5 p.m. Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood will be onstage January 20 – February 5, 2012.
Auditions are open to actors ages 9 and up. There is no fee to audition.
No preparatory material is required. Children’s Theatre requests that audition participants bring a current photo. Comfortable clothing and shoes that allow freedom of movement are strongly recommended. Audition participants need to be punctual. All auditions are held in the Lower Lobby of the Arkansas Arts Center.

The Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter is seeking donations of artwork for their annual fundraising event, Fresh StART, an auction featuring the works of local professional artists. The event will be held November 4th at the Doubletree Hotel in Bentonville. To help promote contributing artists, samples of donated works will be used in promotional materials. All proceeds from the event will go to support services for victims of violence in the area.
