Art Experience 2009 will take place April 18, from 6 p.m. until midnight, on the ninth floor of the Bentonville Plaza Building, 609 SW 8th St, Bentonville, AR.
Seventeen artists will display works during the event. Exhibitors include acclaimed local artists as well as artists with national and international reputations. Among those exhibiting are registry members: Lisa Bauer, Hank Kaminsky, Mark Rademacher, Tania Knudsen, Hank Barnes, Jeff and Judy Goodwin, Karin Ford Boudet, Brian Watson, Ali Stinespring, and Zeek Taylor.
The Latin inspired event benefiting Walnut Farm Montessori School will feature an art auction, great music, lounge seating, and a fabulous array of unique art items. Guests will enjoy food, wine, beer, and a tequila tasting and margarita bar.

Photographer John Rankine's "A Community at Peace" installation is now available for viewing on-line through the Eureka Springs Artist Registry's website www.eurekaspringsartists.com
Rankine invited 550 Eureka Springs community members to sit for individual photographic portraits while visualizing, meditating on, praying for, or simply thinking about peace.

Plan to spend Oct. 5-6, in Hot Springs for ArtLinks 2009: Maximizing Creative Thinking, Arkansas Arts Council's statewide conference on the arts, for Artists, Educators, Arts Administrators and Community Leaders.
Keynote speaker for this year's conference is poet, novelist, essayist, teacher and lecturer Andrei Codrescu! Andrei Codrescu is a Romanian-born poet who emigrated to the U.S. in 1966 and became a U.S. citizen in 1981. He received National Endowment for the Arts fellowships for poetry and editing, the Romanian Literature Prize, the ACLU Freedom of Speech Award and the Ovidius Prize.
He is also a regular commentator on National Public Radio and winner of the Peabody Award for the film "Road Scholar." |

Don't forget ... the Arkansas Arts Council is NOW accepting nominations for the Governor's Arts Awards. Honor an artist or arts patron by submitting a nomination today.
Nominations are being accepted in seven categories:
Arts Community Development, Arts in Education, Corporate Sponsorship of the Arts, Individual Artist, Folk Life, Patron and Lifetime Achievement. Each nomination will be judged on the significance of the contributions made, the range of the individuals and groups served and the length of time and degree of the activity or contributions.
