Artists frequently turn to technology for inspirationor commentary, utilizing components such as chips, ink cartridges and disk drives to make their art. London artist Nick Gentry has turned forgotten floppy disks into art by using them as a canvas for his mixed media paintings.
“The whole world was totally reliant on these physical media formats,” he says. “Now suddenly we are at a time where they are obsolete, replaced by countless intangible data files. Will humans be compatible with our own technology?” Read More http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/02/art-floppy-disks/#ixzz0fBgviIvC |

Was reading one of my favorite blogs just now and the author mentioned that he had just bought "67".
Ok, I was intrigued and decided to investigate. What I found was an artist who was selling 1000 paintings with the numbers 1 through 1000 painted on each one. The artist's name is Marcel Salathe.
"One thousand numbers = one thousand paintings. All beautifully painted on canvas (approx. 12 x 12 x 1.5 inches). Each number is unique - the number is the art is the price is the limit."
