store_front02Yes, it's already that time of the month again, and here at the Gallery that means Wine, Art and Cheeseball (not cramps or paying bills). Gallery 26 will be open late for Shop 'n Sip (or as Renee likes to say: Shopie Sippie ) along with many other fine, valiant Merchants in Hillcrest. Marcus McAllister will be giving an artist talk and Q&A on his current show, so if you're wondering what's up with all the Rabbits, now is your chance to find out. The talk starts at 7:00 but he'll be here at 5:00 for meeting and greeting. Valentines is on the calender this month, so come on in and get an early jump on things. Paintings, Drawings, glass work, jewelry and much more can be had for that special someone in your life....or forget that special someone and just get it for you.

Besides us, there are cocktails to be had at Diversions, shopping at Box Turtle, pet washing, fine dinning at Ferneau's. I hear The House has unveiled their new menu. Come on out!

Current Show:

Gallery 26 presents the paintings and drawings of Marcus McAllister and Janet Wilcox. Marcus, a Little Rock native, currently living in Paris (France), returns with a beautiful selection of work drawn from the pages of his ever present sketchbook. Janet Wilcox, art instructor at Holy Souls, shows that she can do as well as teach. Janet shares her love for all creatures great and small with a wonderful group of paintings meditating on her connection with the loves of her life, both four legged and two.  Show runs through March 13th.

Receptions are free and open to the public.

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
