Additional Information

Join the Arkansas Arts Center for a lecture by Mary Morton, curator of French paintings at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Morton will provide context for the Arts Center's seascape by Gustave Courbet, a recent acquisition. She will discuss Courbet's sea- and landscapes in relation to other genres of painting in which Courbet worked. She will also discuss the influence Courbet's painting had on the Impressionists and later generations of artists. This lecture was originally scheduled for November 19, 2009. This lecture is sponsored by Gaye and Bob Anderson. Admission to the lecture is free.

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
