The "Battle of Bands" benefit for the Amboy Community Food Pantry is scheduled for Sat. May 22, 2010.  We are hoping your group will help with this cause.  We are hoping to have enough music to need to start 2 hours earlier this year at 2pm and continue until sunset.  I hope you and your band will be able to help us.  This has become our largest fund raiser over that last 4 years and our need is greater now that ever.  Feel free to contact me, Jim Carpenter @ 501-758-8806 for more information.

A Woman’s Worth 3
Celebrating women in the Arts
Saturday, March 27 at 6pm

Our goal is to provide a special opportunity to discover and celebrate art and experiences in a variety of forms and mediums that help expand our perceptions of women. The celebration will end with an all female (or female-led) concert.

Please join us as we take a moment to honor the originality, beauty, imagination and multiple dimensions of women’s lives and to reflect on the contribution of women to the arts.

We're still looking for female performers of all music genres (Rock, Blues, Folk, R&B, Rap, etc). Please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are interested in performing.

Your Canvas Junkie Host

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
