IMG_4516The Palette Art League would like to extend an invitation to artists and the community to an open house,

Saturday, February 4th, 4 to 7 pm.

Local artists will be available, showing their unique artistic wares, fine art, pottery, jewelry, sculptures and much more.

There is an all new gift shop featuring local artisans, Anni Worster, Meggan Worster, Marion Yancey, Dorothy Anderson, Carole Jones, Dana Johnson, Jack and Jane Ryan and paintings by Palette Art League Members.

“Artists and Artisans of the Ozarks,” Vol. two, will be available for purchase with many artists on site to sign your copy.

There is no charge and refreshments will be served. The P.A.L.’s Fine Art Gallery is located at 300 Hwy 62W, Yellville, Arkansas.

The Gallery hours are Tuesday thru Friday, 10am to 4 pm, Saturday 10 am to Noon.

images-1_copy(LITTLE ROCK, AR) – Registration begins Monday, February 6 for the Arkansas Arts Center Museum School’s Junior Arts Academy.  Junior Arts Academy will be held June 4- 15, 2012, Monday- Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This annual summer program provides both visual and theatrical arts instruction to 6-9 year olds. This year’s theme is Fractured Fairy Tales, where students will alter different components of traditional fairy tales, giving them a modern spin. Visual arts projects include making collages, working with clay, wood working, mask making, painting and large group projects.

Theatrical instruction will include pantomime, improvisation and movement. The two-week program culminates with Play and Display where students show off the work they have created, and perform original short plays on the Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre stage.

Tuition for Junior Arts Academy is $495. Arkansas Arts Center Members receive a discount. Scholarships are available to help offset the cost of tuition. Inquire when registering. To register, visit www.arkarts.com.

I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.

As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".

Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
