| Rick Sidebottom was born in Tucson, AZ and was raised in Central Arkansas. He has always enjoyed art in many forms and spent several years as a semi-professional photographer. Metal work came later in life and sparked a line of creativity that had lied dormant for many years.
His inspiration comes from family and friends and his experience with them. Most pieces are designed, with the help of his wife Susan, to match the client’s surroundings. Being mostly self taught and using a combination of hand and power tools, creations come together in a small studio/shop in Central Arkansas. Rick takes pride in the one-of-a-kind items that come together for his clients and just as much pride in the items that are made for fun. “You can always find a similar, lower quality, piece cheaper somewhere else. When you see one of our pieces you want to touch it and see if the texture is real, and it is. That comes from heat and hammer, tool and pressure, and you can’t fake that.” |
I am your host at Canvas Junkie and work in several media. I design and make one of a kind sculpture you can wear or jewelry.
As well as paint, make found object sculpture and generally will chase after anything sparkly. When I was a teen my dad would introduce me as his daughter with the disclaimer of "You know artists are weird".
Now that I have seen many years of life pass by (I'm in denial about exactly how many)............. I'm happy to be known as an artist because....... life is just weird.
